I Will Swear With My Children That in My 55 Years on Earth, I Have Known Only One Man — Nonye Soludo

The Daily Post of Saturday, September 13, 2025, reported that Mrs. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Governor of Anambra State, has issued a daring challenge to Senator Uche Ekwunife. She urged both of them to swear an oath of purity before the Virgin Mary and proposed that their children undergo DNA tests to put an end to all controversies.

Her strong response followed allegations by Senator Ekwunife, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who claimed that Mrs. Soludo had maintained a close relationship and political ties with former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju.

In a press statement released on Friday, Mrs. Soludo dismissed the claims as fabricated lies and accused Ekwunife of dragging innocent children into political disputes. She described the senator’s actions as damaging and warned that unless a public apology was issued within 72 hours, she would initiate legal action.

According to her, a public oath-taking ceremony would put the matter to rest.

“Since Uche Ekwunife parades herself as a Catholic convert, I openly invite her for both of us to take an oath of faithfulness and chastity inside any cathedral, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Bible.

“I will swear (with my children) that in my 55 years on earth, I have known only one man — Chukwuma Soludo. On your part, you should also swear (with your children or your political ambitions) that since you got married, you have never cheated on your husband,” she stated.

Taking it further, she also called for medical proof:
“I challenge you, Uche Ekwunife, to subject all our children to DNA analysis at three renowned hospitals in London. I will bear all the costs, including your family’s travel expenses.”

Mrs. Soludo added that if it was confirmed beyond doubt that all of Ekwunife’s children were fathered by her husband, she would not only commend her but also reward her with a cash gift.

Presenting herself as a modest woman with firm moral discipline, the governor’s wife highlighted her Christian values and upbringing.

“I married my husband as a virgin, and for the past 33 years of marriage, my loyalty to him has remained absolute and will remain so for the rest of my life,” she declared.
