Former Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, has congratulated Rev. Dr. Amos Musa Mohzo on his re-election as President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).
Rev. Dr. Mohzo, who first assumed office as COCIN President in 2021, was re-elected last week for another four-year term.
Senator Ndume, who hails from Gwoza in Borno South Senatorial District, described Rev.
Mohzo’s re-election as a testament to his diligence, leadership qualities, and the trust he has earned over the years among his peers in the service of God.The Federal lawmaker urged the COCIN President to continue using his position to promote inter-religious harmony and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.
“I have known you over the years as a humble and God-fearing personality, which reflects your divine calling,” Ndume stated.
“I have followed your career trajectory closely. You have been an asset to our community in Gwoza, where you began your journey early in life, imparting knowledge and mentoring others as a trained teacher.
“As COCIN Deputy General Secretary, later General Secretary, Vice President, and now President, your impressive records speak for themselves. Your humility confirms the saying that ‘he who humbles himself will be exalted, and whoever exalts himself will be humbled.’”
Ndume further noted that at a time when divisive elements are attempting to stoke religious tensions in the country, Rev. Mohzo’s experience in managing diversity would be invaluable.
He called on Rev. Mohzo and other faith leaders to support government efforts in fostering unity, peace, and mutual trust among Nigerians of different religious backgrounds.
