NiMet Trains Kano Administrative Staff On Agile, Responsive Workforce

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has commenced a two day training programme for administrative staff in the Kano Zone as part of efforts to strengthen human capacity and improve service delivery.
The training, which began on Tuesday, September 15, and concludes today, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, is being held under NiMet’s renewed human capacity development initiative led by the Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Charles Anosike.
The programme, themed “Building Agile, Resilient and Responsive (AR²) 21st Century Workforce,” is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge, professional skills and capacity to respond effectively to emerging administrative responsibilities.
NiMet said the training underscores management’s commitment to continuous training and retraining of personnel as an important component of staff development, motivation and productivity.
Participants are being exposed to relevant knowledge and practical insights aimed at improving their ability to adapt to changing workplace demands and contribute more effectively to the achievement of the agency’s organisational objectives.
The agency said the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to develop a highly skilled, agile and responsive workforce capable of delivering quality services in line with NiMet’s mandate.
The training is taking place at the Green Desert Hotel, Kano, with administrative staff from the Kano Zone participating in the programme.
The Public Relations Unit of NiMet’s North West Zonal Office, MAKIA, Kano, said the initiative reflects the agency’s emphasis on professional development as a key driver of effective service delivery.
