President Bola Tinubu has issued a firm directive to the nation’s security chiefs, calling for a conclusive victory against the numerous security challenges facing Nigeria.
The President made the call in a decisive meeting at the State House on Friday, where he underscored the imperative for a comprehensive resolution to the multi-faceted security issues plaguing the nation.

Acknowledging the progress made in eliminating certain threats across various regions, President Tinubu stressed the necessity for an ultimate triumph against the complex array of challenges. “We have critical investments in infrastructure, social security, MSME empowerment, and other growth enablers. Our pursuit of a $1 trillion economy hinges on decisively tackling the enemies of progress,” stated President Tinubu.

Expressing satisfaction with the ongoing efforts and improved coordination among security agencies, the President highlighted recent setbacks, notably in Kaduna, deeming them unacceptable. “Coordination has improved, but until we secure our territories, bring our troops home, and allocate resources to vital economic expansion, celebrations are premature,” emphasized President Tinubu.

A core objective set forth by President Tinubu is the sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day by the first quarter of 2024.

While emphasizing the gravity of the mission, he urged the armed forces, particularly the Navy, to enhance their performance to achieve national objectives. He also pledged a relentless pursuit against all disruptive elements, both internal and external, threatening Nigeria’s interests.

The President recognized and promoted the commitment and dedication of key security personnel, including the Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF), the Commander of the Brigade of Guards (BoG), and the Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO). Their elevated ranks were bestowed upon Air Commodore Olayinka Olusola Oyesola, Commander Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, and Police CPSO Usman Musa Shugaba, respectively.

During the promotion ceremony, President Tinubu commended their loyalty and service to the nation, emphasizing that Nigeria cherishes their contributions. The event witnessed the presence of high-ranking officials, including the National Security Adviser, Service Chiefs, Heads of Intelligence Agencies, and presidential aides.

AVM Olayinka, speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the President for the recognition and assured continued allegiance and dedication to duty.
