Sultan urges Muslims to look for new moon of shawwal tomorrow, Saturday

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar has on Muslims in the country to start looking for the new Moon of Shawwal tomorrow Saturday the 29th of March 2025,equivalent to Islamic calendar 29th of RAMADAN
1446AH .

This is contained In a statement by the chairman Advisory Committee on Islamic Religious affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto state, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu,Wazirin Sokoto who says if sighted, the information should be forwarded to the nearest district or village head for onward commutation to the Sultan.

The statement insisted that the Monthly Observation of the moon,clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Elder Ubeng's soul and that God grants the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
