Tension trails APC primaries in Ogun as Rep member Princess Adesola Elegbeji reports alleged death threats and urges supporters to remain peaceful amid the controversy.
The lawmaker representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State, Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, has raised concerns over alleged threats to her life following the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
Reacting to a viral video showing a group of young men in Sagamu allegedly threatening to kill her if she failed to leave the town, Princess Elegbeji described the development as disturbing and against democratic principles.
She called on relevant authorities, particularly security agencies and APC leaders in Ogun State, to urgently address the situation.
“This video is a threat against me. Asking me to leave the town or else I’m not safe. I have informed the police and DSS in my area about the situation,” she said.
Princess Elegbeji stated that she has always promoted peace, unity, fairness, and issue-based politics, stressing that elections should be conducted without intimidation, violence, or unrest.
She maintained that political ambition should never come at the cost of human lives, security, and the long-standing peace within the Remo Federal Constituency.
According to her, the people of Remo are known for political maturity and peaceful coexistence, urging party members and stakeholders to take immediate action to calm tensions.
The House of Representatives member also appealed to her supporters to remain calm while reaffirming confidence in her leadership, which she described as focused on responsible representation and progressive politics aimed at the development of Remo Federal Constituency.
Princess Elegbeji noted that since assuming office on October 25, 2025, after winning the bye-election conducted in August 2025, she has remained committed to delivering purposeful and people-oriented representation for the people of Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency.
She further reaffirmed her dedication to prioritising the interests of the people and pledged to continue building on the legacy of the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga.
