40 & Fabulous Naija Season 3 Auditions Underway as Creator Appeals for Media, FG Support
The third season of the Reality TV Show, 40 & Fabulous Naija, has officially commenced in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Chief Executive Officer of Mother of Models International and Creator of the show, Ambassador Jolly Nnenna Abani, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
She explained that the essence of the reality show is to train, empower, and reposition women above 40 years of age, while calling for media support, particularly from television stations, to help project the program to a wider audience.
“I convened this press conference for a very specific reason — I have a bold vision. To make it real, I need one simple thing: a big screen. I trust you will help us put our message where it belongs — in front of as many eyes and hearts as possible,” she stated.
Ambassador Abani described 40 & Fabulous Naija as more than entertainment, stressing that it is a movement and the first reality TV show operating as an NGO. According to her, the platform is designed to educate, heal, and empower women above 40 while also creating opportunities for children and the elderly across communities.
Reflecting on past challenges, she revealed that despite raising over one hundred million naira in funding for Season 1, which covered airtime for two months, and securing similar resources for Season 2, the show was denied broadcast by major brands and stations on claims that its format resembled “the biggest show in Nigeria.”
She, however, clarified that what the project seeks is not free airtime but fair commercial arrangements that allow the content to reach its deserving audience. “We seek partnership, not charity,” she emphasized.
Ambassador Abani also spoke on the struggles of losing political allies, colleagues, and friends who once pledged support but backed out due to fear of blacklisting. Despite these setbacks, she maintained that her resolve has only grown stronger, choosing forgiveness and renewed determination as she launches Season 3.
“This show is dedicated to women often written off by society — unmarried, divorced, widowed, or single mothers, as well as those carrying the scars of abuse. Strong women build strong nations, and when a woman is whole, her family and community benefit,” she said.
According to her, the show also serves as a platform to revive the legacy of legendary women in entertainment who have been sidelined despite their lasting contributions.
She further stressed that 40 & Fabulous Naija offers therapeutic content aimed at healing families and instilling positive values in society, in contrast to some of the destructive content currently promoted in the media. She urged the public to subscribe to the show’s YouTube channel, @40andFabulousNaija, to follow the journey and vote for housemates.
Auditions for Season 3 are currently ongoing. This season will feature both women and men, with women residing in the house while men join during weekends to network, showcase their businesses, and entertain. Interested participants are to text 40 to 205 for registration.
While appealing for partnerships and sponsorships, Ambassador Abani called on the media and the Federal Government to support the project. “Anticipate a Season 3 filled with hope, progress, and greatness,” she declared.
