Danladi Jatau, has appealed to party stakeholders and registered APC members to support his ambition ahead of the party primaries scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026.

Dr. Jatau made the appeal during separate town hall meetings held on Wednesday with party stakeholders, supporters, local government and ward officials in Karu, Keffi and Kokona Local Government Areas.
The Speaker stated that he possesses the experience and capacity required to effectively represent the constituency at the House of Representatives.
He explained that his years of service in various government positions have prepared him for the task, assuring the people of quality and effective representation if elected.
According to him, “I want to appeal to you to come out en masse and vote for me on Friday, May 15, 2026, to enable me win the primary election.
“With the love and support you have shown me, I believe I will emerge victorious in the primary election this Friday,” he said.
Dr. Jatau noted that his decision to contest was driven by his desire to contribute more to humanity and accelerate development in the constituency.
“People have called on me to contest and I answered their call. By the grace of God, I will represent you well if elected,” he added.
The Speaker highlighted several achievements recorded during his time as a lawmaker and Speaker, including efforts in employment, empowerment, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply and infrastructure development.
“I have done well for my people as a member and Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. I have stabilised the activities of the Assembly, united members of the House and ensured cooperation and synergy with the Executive arm for the progress of the state,” he stated.
Dr. Jatau also appreciated party stakeholders, officials and members for their continued support and urged them to sustain it.
He further appealed to his supporters not to insult or retaliate against politicians who may have spoken against him.
“Please, I urge you not to insult or attack any politician that insulted me. Let us remain focused and continue to play politics according to the rules in the interest of peace,” he said.
The Speaker also called on residents of the federal constituency to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s preferred successor, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Let us all support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s preferred successor, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, to succeed in 2027. I want APC to win the 2027 general elections,” he said.
He equally commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he described as his developmental strides across the state.
As part of efforts to strengthen party activities in the constituency, Dr. Jatau distributed 32 motorcycles to APC ward chairmen across Karu, Keffi and Kokona LGAs.
Speaking during the events, APC chairmen in Kokona, Keffi and Karu LGAs — Hon. Jacob Terry Bado, Mr. Muhammad Awwal Idris and Mutari Samson — praised the Speaker for what they described as his purposeful leadership in the state legislature.
They maintained that Dr. Jatau had stabilised the Assembly and expressed confidence that he would perform well as a member of the National Assembly.
The party leaders urged constituents to pray for and support his ambition.
The event also witnessed the defection of over 100 members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC.
Leader of the defectors and Nasarawa West SDP Zonal Secretary, Mr. Yamusa Ishaya Audu, said they joined the APC because of Speaker Jatau’s leadership qualities and Governor Sule’s developmental achievements in the state.
