What Exactly Do Rev Sisters Do?

Life is better lived in fulfilment, when ones destiny path is discovered and followed. Every vocation is important, none is more important, however highly perceived.

The definining factor is self fulfillment within the space of divine mandate.

Recently, I was in an air bus with a Rev. Sister. Each time I looked towards her side, the reason why she chose such a vocation kept coming to my mind very pushfully. Generally they are seen as religious, with the primary responsibility to pray, live a life of celibacy, obedience and communal.

These are beautiful personal lifestyles if honoured and respected, it have a way of creating dignity and reverence around them.

Many of them of course enjoyfully live through such vows and consecration, while some equally have become an opposite narrative of the beauty of this vocation, attracting aversion and disdainful remarks from scandalised souls.

The joy of sisterhood isn’t in the hood, just as priesthood isn’t too in the hood. Beyond the hood, is a lifestyle that should not be compromised.

One though may slip once, slide through the slippery parts of life with unsteady gait unanticipatedly. Living through it as a lifestyle without conscience makes the decision to follow this vocation path in the first place very unfruitful.

The glamor of any vocation, any destiny path isn’t in the external achievements of the ephemerals. It is beyond the rise to the echelon, it isn’t about the monetary powers achieved, the duplexes, the estates etc accomplished. Though nice and amazing, but more to the alignment of the divine will in ones destiny path.

Any Rev. Sister that left the path of marriage, the blessings of motherhood and chose this celibate life and still gets entangled with the web of sexual activiness, either covertly or otherwise is of all women the most unreasonable.

To all the Rev. Sisters out there this is my small way of encouraging you. The world is becoming increasingly very hostile. Men are roaming and roaring to devour. The enticement of material things the albatross. Very challenging to look away when the economic odds are at their fiercest stage and the daily needs more widening.

Nothing worths more than your vows, before your vows they should cave in and the thought to be sincere and steadfast with your consecration, the drive that should keep you on the track, going steadily.

I celebrate all the Rev. Sisters whose lifestyles have been a reflection of purity, godliness and chastity, they are the real bride of Christ. To those whose walk on the path of their vows and consecration have been very unsteady, I pray for a renewal of life.

Let us encourage them the best way we can. A lot is their challenges and temptations.
Remember to pray for them. A lot of them are going through the crucibles.
