APGA’s Ifeoma Azikiwe Wins Anambra Bye-Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency bye-election in Anambra State.

INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Ibiam Ekpe, declared APGA’s candidate, Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe, winner of the poll with 7,774 votes. She defeated Justice Azuka of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who scored 1,909 votes, while Ezennia Ojekwe of the APC and Njideka Ndiwe of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) polled 1,371 and 655 votes respectively.

Prof. Ekpe commended the peaceful conduct of the election, affirming that Azikiwe met all legal requirements and was duly returned elected.

Azikiwe will serve out the remaining two-year term of the late lawmaker, Justice Azuka, who was kidnapped and later killed by gunmen.
