Best Time To Die?
By Dr jalarth Uche Opara
Have you heard people pray that they wouldn’t die, their loved ones won’t die etc. These are ways of saying no to death and a deeper expression of human love to live and enjoy the good things of life unending .
Nobody wants to die. Even those experiencing the most difficult and challenging phase of their lives would always wish to stay alive, hoping for a better tommorow.
Ask anyone to take date very situable either them or their loved ones to die, only very few would. Nobody would want to die willingly except by a force, spiritually orchestrated.
The world has become too sweet a place, however its transient nature nobody wants to leave on self volition. Think about a world without death, a world that would probably been at the precipice, ready to implode with an overwhelming population.
On population reduction, death has been doing an amazing job, making ones craving to see God’s face a possibility.
With death, the signal should be, get ready at all times, like a dice thrown on a lido screen, the number that would come up nobody knows.
What is your best time to die? Today? Tommorow? At the age of 90? 100? Etc.
Life is deep but death is deeper. Life heralds one into a journey of limitations, while death opens doors of eternity. Life gives one the option of choice but death forecloses every opportunity to choose, the consequences of the choice made alive becomes the reality of one in death.
The glitters of life make the thought of death very unappealing, holding such thought and making them idols makes death an unwanted reality.
The best time to die is when the ovation of ones amazing relationship and fellowship with God is loudest. When the spots of sin are their barest minimum. When the cravings of ones heart is consumed by godliness and when the relationship of with neighbours is topnotch. Many have died in this state and many too have missed it. Nothing defines the eternal life of one than the state under which they die. Pray that you die not young, not old but pure and holy before God. Anything less this, is a bad, unfortunate, premature and painful death.
This piece was written in a cloud 35,000 feet above sea level. Death could have happened there. Death is so flexible, it can strike at anytime, anywhere etc That it didn’t happen, is nothing but favor. Nothing of my doing, purely God’s mercy.
Not every death is a loss. Any person that dies outside Christ however visible they are in wealth, fame and power died a death that is colossally a great loss.
The best time to die isn’t when wealth is fullest. Not when applause is loudest. Not when strength still intoxicates the heart. But when the soul stands light before God —washed of bitterness, emptied of pride,
and clothed in mercy, love, and grace.
For death does not ask permission. It comes like a silent wind between breaths,
between destinations,
between takeoff and landing.
The best time to die
is when heaven finds the heart ready.
Do whatever you want, but ensure you die in Christ.
