Renowned cleric and Convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has declared his support for the presidential ambition of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader, Prince Adewole Adebayo, ahead of the 2027 general election, warning that Nigeria must not drift into a one-party state.

Prophet El-Buba made the declaration while addressing delegates at an SDP event in Bauchi State, describing the gathering as a significant moment in the country’s political evolution.
Speaking to party members, the cleric congratulated the SDP for what he described as a peaceful gathering and urged members to remain united in their efforts to reposition the nation.
He expressed concern over the current state of the country, noting that despite Nigeria’s vast natural and human resources, millions of citizens continue to face insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and social injustice.
According to him, years of leadership failures have continued to deny citizens, particularly young people, opportunities for development, quality education, and economic advancement.
“Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources, intelligent people and great potential, yet millions still suffer from insecurity, unemployment, poverty and injustice,” he said.
Prophet El-Buba maintained that the challenges confronting Nigerians require urgent action, stressing that the time has come for citizens to work together in reshaping the nation’s future.
“Now is the time that we need to join forces together to rewrite history. Nigerians cannot continue to go through pain and frustration.
“Nigeria cannot go into a one-party state. Every system survives by justice and equity. Oppression is never the pathway to stability and peace cannot thrive in the midst of injustice,” he declared.
Throwing his support behind Prince Adewole Adebayo, the cleric announced that members of his movement would mobilize support for the SDP chieftain ahead of the next presidential election.
He said Nigerians seeking genuine national recovery should rally behind leaders committed to restoring the nation’s lost values and rebuilding public confidence in governance.
Prophet El-Buba also criticized vote-buying and political inducement, insisting that Nigerians have become more politically aware and would no longer exchange their future for temporary material gains.
He expressed optimism about the country’s future, describing the present moment as the beginning of a national rebirth and a renewed quest for purposeful leadership.
