Tinubu Lands in Kenya for High-Stakes Africa Forward Summit With Macron, Ruto
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a major continental gathering expected to shape discussions around Africa’s economic transformation, trade expansion, climate resilience, and digital innovation.
The Nigerian leader touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time on Monday and was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, alongside senior Kenyan officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.
The summit, jointly hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, is expected to attract African leaders, global investors, policymakers, and development partners to deliberate on strategies for sustainable growth and regional integration across the continent.
According to the Presidency, President Tinubu will use the summit to deepen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with African nations while reinforcing the country’s leadership role in advancing Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges.
The summit will focus on key sectors including infrastructure development, digital economy, climate action, food security, and regional trade cooperation aimed at accelerating prosperity across Africa.
President Tinubu is also expected to hold high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit as part of efforts to attract investment opportunities and strengthen strategic partnerships for Nigeria.
The President was accompanied on the trip by several top government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani; and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole.
Others in the delegation include Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Director General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation reflects his administration’s commitment to driving the Renewed Hope Agenda through strategic international engagement and stronger regional cooperation across Africa.
