The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has urged intending Christian pilgrims to undertake the holy pilgrimage with profound spiritual awareness, charging them to walk in the footsteps of Christ and return with testimonies that reflect transformed lives and strengthened faith.

The message was delivered on his behalf by the Director of Administration, Mr. Abu Okpanachi, on Monday, 20 January 2026, during the airlift of the third batch of pilgrims from Imo and Borno States to Israel and Jordan.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Okpanachi described the pilgrims as fortunate to be embarking on the sacred journey through the support of state governors, the Federal Government, and self-sponsorship. He emphasized that the pilgrimage is not meant for leisure or tourism, but for spiritual rebirth, renewal, and a deeper relationship with Christ.
He encouraged the pilgrims to seize the opportunity to seek a genuine encounter with Christ as they trace His footsteps across the holy sites, expressing the hope that the spiritual gains of the pilgrimage would be evident in their lives and result in lasting testimonies on their return.
The Director of Administration further advised the pilgrims to be their brothers’ keepers by remaining alert, moving in groups, and looking out for one another throughout the journey. He also urged strict compliance with laid-down instructions, assuring them that NCPC officials are on ground to guide, assist, and provide support at every stage of the pilgrimage.
He concluded with prayers for a spiritually fulfilling journey, divine protection, and the safe return of all pilgrims to Nigeria with remarkable testimonies, in line with the charge of the Executive Secretary.
