Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has opened up about the difficult phase she went through while struggling to find her footing after the collapse of her second marriage.

Speaking on Mr. LilGaGa’s show, the actress revealed that her husband threw her out, leaving her without a place to stay. She said moving back to her parents’ home was not an option because it would be seen as a sign of failure, and she also did not have enough money to rent a proper apartment immediately.

Determined to find a way, Bakare secured a three-bedroom flat, though the landlord insisted it was strictly for office use. To keep the place, she set up an office as instructed but secretly turned it into her shelter at night. Since the building had multiple offices, it was easy to conceal the fact that she was living there.

“The landlord said it was not for residential purposes, so I arranged an office. But at night, I stayed there,” she confessed.

Despite the challenges, Bakare explained that the experience gave her the resilience to rebuild both her life and career with renewed strength.
